Why This Matters

Healing is not a solo journey. This program is rooted in community care, Afrocentric resilience, and radical self-care. Together, we will create a circle of belonging where your story is seen, your voice is honored, and your liberation is the goal.

Introducing the E.L.E.V.A.T.E.™ Model— A Culturally Rooted Pathway to Healing

Healing is not a straight line — it’s a journey of release, reclamation, and rise. That’s why I created the E.L.E.V.A.T.E.™ model, a framework rooted in Black resilience, history, and liberation psychology.

E.L.E.V.A.T.E.™

E: Examine the Weight

Our healing begins with honesty. Not the kind of honesty that’s neat or polished—but the kind that cracks you open. The kind that whispers to you in the middle of the night when everything you’ve buried is trying to surface.

L: Listen To the Body

Our bodies are not just flesh and bone -- they are living archives, holding the whispers of our ancestors, the ache of generational grief, and the heaviness of trauma we didn't choose but inherited.

E: Embrace the Truth

This step asks us to reclaim our truth and reject the lies told to us by racism, patriarchy, and trauma. bell hooks teaches that healing happens in communion with truth and love. Embracing the truth means removing the mask and standing fully in our identities—our histories, our faith, our contradictions.

V: Validate Your Worth

Worthiness is not earned through struggle—it is inherent. Yet for many Black women, our worth has been questioned, minimized, and stolen long before we were even born.

A: Ask For Help

For the Black community, asking for help isn’t always as simple as raising a hand or making a call. It often feels like a dangerous contradiction.

T: Transform Pain Into Power

For the Black community, healing has never been optional—it’s been essential to survival. And yet, so often, we’re taught to delay it. To avoid it. To get over it. To keep pushing through.

E: Elevate Together

Healing may begin as an internal journey, but true transformation happens in community. This final step of the E.L.E.V.A.T.E.™ Model invites us to move beyond individual recovery and step into collective power. Because while we may heal for ourselves, we rise for each other.

This model is woven through my books, courses, and coaching. It’s not just theory — it’s a practical, culturally-rooted roadmap that helps the Black community heal what we’ve carried, reclaim what is ours, and rise into wholeness.

When we E.L.E.V.A.T.E., we don’t just heal individually — we rise together.

Why I Do This Work

I know this path because I’ve walked it. For years, I carried the invisible weight of trauma, exhaustion, and silence — in my body, in my spirit, and in my daily life. I know what it feels like to be strong for everyone else while your own soul aches for release. I know what it means to inherit burdens you never chose and to wonder if joy is even possible.

But I also know what it means to heal.

I am a Certified Peer & Recovery Support Specialist, a trainer, and an empowerment coach with more than 14 years of experience guiding individuals and communities through recovery, self-care, and racial healing. I am the author of The Weight Was Never Yours and the creator of courses and group coaching rooted in Black resilience, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome (Dr. Joy DeGruy), and liberation psychology.

What sets me apart is not just my training, but my lived experience as a Black woman who has faced addiction, homelessness, and systemic barriers — and has reclaimed wholeness through community, culture, and radical self-care. I don’t speak from theory alone; I speak from scars turned into lessons, from survival turned into strategy, from pain transformed into power.

My work is unapologetically culturally-rooted, community-centered, and liberation-focused. I create spaces where the Black community can:

  • Release generational trauma carried in our bodies and spirits
  • Reclaim joy, rest, and boundaries as sacred birthrights
  • Rise into wholeness, freedom, and unapologetic self-love

This isn’t just coaching. It’s not just teaching. It’s a movement of healing and reclamation — and I am honored to walk beside you as we release what was never ours and rise into what always was.
